Black Mirror is coming back for another season, and like its second series, will contain only three episodes.

The anthology has been praised for its ability to be a surrogate for Twilight Zone in the electronic age. Tackling subjects such as social media influence and robot tech, Black Mirror has its pulse on horrors of a power button obsessed society.

Late last year, they went kind of meta with their interactive one-off feature Bandersnatch which got mixed reviews in regards to storyline but praised, perhaps ironically, for innovation.

Season five is not straying from its signature framework. Variety says these episodes will “dive deeper into the state of artificial intelligence, smart technology and virtual reality.”

Even though the season is small, the casting is not.

Episodes star Anthony Mackie, Miley Cyrus, Yahya Abdul-Mateen II, Topher Grace, Damson Idris, Andrew Scott, Nicole Beharie, Pom Klementieff, Angourie Rice, Madison Davenport and Ludi Lin.

For those who don’t know Black Mirror taps into what can happen if technology began to control humans either by influence or self-awareness. These cautionary tales are realistically sewn into the fringe of science fiction and probability.
