Billie Lourd Returning for ‘American Horror Story’ Season 8

Ah, American Horror Story, whether one loves it or hates it, you can’t deny it continues to be popular. One of the best things about the show – and sometimes one of the worst things – is just how absolutely bonkers things often get, whether it makes sense for the plot or not.

That batshit insanity held true for last year’s AHS season 7, subtitled Cult. As usual, Cult introduced a few new actors and actresses to Ryan Murphy’s cavalcade of crazy, including Alison Pill, Billy Eichner, Lena Dunham, and Billie Lourd.

Lourd is the daughter of Hollywood legend Carrie Fisher, who sadly passed away near the end of 2016. Lourd appeared alongside her mother in Star Wars VII and VIII, and has also been featured on Murphy’s now canceled FOX series Scream Queens.

In Cult, Lourd played Winter Anderson, scheming sister to self-styled cult leader Kai Anderson (AHS regular Evan Peters). To say that the two siblings had a strange relationship would be putting things very, very mildly.

Now, Deadline reports that Lourd is headed back for American Horror Story season 8. As usual, almost nothing is known in advance about the season, which is rumored to be subtitled Radioactive, and involve a nuclear apocalypse.

That extends to any information about what Lourd’s season 8 role will be. Other actors confirmed for the season include Murphy loyalists Peters, Sarah Paulson, and Kathy Bates, as well as AHS newcomer Joan Collins.
