Bill Murray Says ‘Ghostbusters: Afterlife’ Feels Like the First Film

by Trey Hilburn III

We are in hell. A Ghostbuster’s fantatic’s hell. The wait for Ghostbusters: Afterlife has been a very hard wait. That considering, we should have seen the film in theaters last summer. But, COVID-19 was a hater and screwed us all. The film has been moved around more than a few times and we can’t wait till we finally get our eyeballs on it. In the meantime it sounds like Bill Murray has seen and is very happy with the finished product.

During the Santa Barbara International Film Festival, critic and demigod, Leonard Maltin interviewed Bill Murray and was able to ask some great questions concerning Ghostbusters: Afterlife.

He {Jason Reitman} has a really, really wonderful idea that he wrote with another wonderful guy that I got to work with Gil Kenan, who made the City of Ember. The two of them wrote a Ghostbusters movie that really brings it back to life and really has the feel of the first one. More than the second one or the girl’s one. It has a different feel than two out of four, and I think he’s really got something.“ Murray told Maltin.

That is enormous news coming from him. Murray was reluctant to have anything to do with Ghostbusters. It seems Reitman has a great story and one that Bill feels like fits in well with the first Ghostbusters film!
