Okay. Before you guys freak out about the term “reboot,” I’ll start by saying Mike Judge is onboard and still doing the voices for both Beavis and Butt-Head. That said, there is going to be a couple of major updates to the series.

The MTV sensation Beavis and Butt-Head that hit the airwaves back in 1993 are seriously back. Like I said, creator Mike Judge is also back to give these dudes the voice only he could. The significant difference this time around is that he will be bringing them back for the modern day and to Comedy Central. Beavis and Butt-Head welcome to 2020.

“It seemed like the time was right to get stupid again,” creator, Mike Judge said.

There is still very little known about the direction the new series will take, but it will definitely have Beavis and Butt-Head in it. It will be interesting to see if the two slacker metalheads are still teens or if they are middle-aged.

Whichever direction it goes, Judge is a master of storytelling and character building. Silicon Valley, King of the Hill and Tales From the Tour Bus are all masterfully written with a voice that understands its audience.

The press release states that “In this iteration, Beavis and Butt-head are entering a whole new Gen Z world,” So, we can count on seeing the guys crash head first into our current climate. Again Judge has his finger firmly on the pulse of the outlandishness of the current age. Idiocracy is all the proof you need of that.

What do you think, Beavis and Butt-Head fans? Are you excited about the return?
