Adam Egypt Mortimer’s Archenemy is a hot ticket around film fests this year. At Beyond Fest the screening has completely sold out.
It’s no wonder, last year Mortimer’s Daniel Isn’t Real made it to many critic’s top 10 lists. This offering has some great talent behind it too; the producers of Mandy and Color Out of Space.
Starring Joe Manganiello, who is no stranger to the superhero universe, his character in Archenemy appears to be a violent vigilante from another dimension who has lost his powers and appears to be a disturbed vagrant.
Below is the trailer for the film followed by the synopsis.
Written and directed by Adam Egypt Mortimer (Daniel Isn’t Real), the film stars Joe Manganiello (“True Blood”), Skylan Brooks (“Empire”), Zolee Griggs (“W-Tang: An American Saga”), Amy Seimetz (Pet Semetary) and Glenn Howerton (“It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia”).
In Archenemy, Max Fist (Manganiello) claims to be a hero from another dimension who fell through time and space to Earth, where he has no powers. No one believes his stories except for a local teen named Hamster. Together, they take to the streets to wipe out the local drug syndicate and its vicious crime boss known as The Manager.
RLJE Films will be releasing Archenemy, in Theaters, On Demand and Digital on December 11, 2020.
