The Walking Dead creator, Robert Kirkman is potentially taking on horror IP like gangbusters. Variety reports that an original pitch from Kirkman is now being developed with Dexter Fletcher at the helm. It will focus on Dracula’s Renfield. More on that in an upcoming post on iHorror… This one is dealing with a possible An American Werewolf in London reboot.

The real kicker of the Variety report is how it mentions that Kirkman is being sought out to produce  John Landis’ An American Werewolf in London.

Kirkman is an absolute mensch when it comes to horror. His Walking Dead, Outcast and Invincible comics are all seriously great. Admittedly, I’m not a fan of The Walking Dead TV series. But if a reboot has to be made… Kirkman would make an interesting choice.

I’m trying to look at the silver lining here, you guys. Even coming close to the greatness that Landis created with An American Werewolf in London is tough if not completely impossible.

Think Kirkman would bring something interesting to the Werewolf table? Let us know in the comments section.
