AMERICAN HORROR STORY: Season Seven On The High Seas?
Another year, another season of American Horror Story has more or less wrapped. Roanoke ended up being a true surprise, literally. As a wave of potential teasers for the mystery season were released, nobody could make heads or tails or teeth of what was to come. What we got was a ghostly tale of a haunting by the legendary lost colonists of Roanoke. On top of that, the series totally breaking from the typical narrative format of previous seasons by giving us an entire plot told through mockumentary, then the twist of changing formats again to found footage style. While there are certainly critiques and criticisms to be had, this season could easily go down as one of the series’ best structured plots and most inventive. Now, the question remains: What comes next?
Fortunately, clues have already dropped. Much like previous seasons, hints are dropped that allude to the horror stories to come. Such as discussions of asylums in Murder House, the use of the song “I Put A spell On You” in Asylum to Coven, and the line “Life Is Like A Carnival” in Coven alluding to Freak Show. Fortunately, the creators have released a cryptic, but revealing clue with this tweet off the Roanoke season finale.

So, we have a seemingly serene sea with the line “Sweet Dreams” and “The monsters are all gone” combined with cuts to those creepy Blair Witch style figures from this season. Off of that, I think it’s safe to speculate that Season 7 of American Horror Story may involve some scares on the seven seas! Or, at least those bordering America.
Another major clue that fans have latched onto was the focus to a model boat being knocked over in the season finale. When Lee returns to the cursed estate the same time that the Ghost Hunters knock-off show does their fateful stay during The Blood Moon, the antique model ship is supernaturally pushed over. But for a simple jump scare, the camera did linger on it quite a bit.
As well, it is noted that the colonists travelled to the Americas by way of ship, and some of the initial teasers did have aqua themed terror. Combined, I think it’s safe to guess that next season will have something to do with the ocean and a ship in particular. The tweet reading “The monsters are all gone” makes me think “Here there be monsters.” Perhaps as every season draws from real life horrors, one of the many famous boats or crews that have disappeared at sea. Such as The Mary Celeste or the many doomed souls to go through The Bermuda Triangle. As someone who really loves stories about the beasts of the deep, I am sincerely hoping for some scary sea monsters.
So while we wait, why not speculate! What do you think is the horror story to come in Season 7?

Watch ‘The Burning’ At The Location Where It Was Filmed
Fangoria is reporting that fans of the 1981 slasher The Burning will be able to have a screening of the film at the location where it was filmed. The movie is set at Camp Blackfoot which is actually the Stonehaven Nature Preserve in Ransomville, New York.
This ticketed event will take place on August 3. Guests will be able to take a tour of the grounds as well as enjoy some campfire snacks along with the screening of The Burning.
The film came out in the early ’80s when teen slashers were being churned out in magnum force. Thanks to Sean S. Cunningham’s Friday the 13th, filmmakers wanted to get in on the low-budget, high-profit movie market and a casket load of these types of films were produced, some better than others.
The Burning is one of the good ones, mostly because of the special effects from Tom Savini who had just come off of his groundbreaking work on Dawn of the Dead and Friday the 13th. He declined to do the sequel because of its illogical premise and instead signed on to do this movie. Also, a young Jason Alexander who would later go on to play George in Seinfeld is a featured player.
Because of its practical gore, The Burning had to be heavily edited before it received an R-rating. The MPAA was under the thumb of protest groups and political bigwigs to censor violent films at the time because slashers were just so graphic and detailed in their gore.
Tickets are $50, and if you want a special t-shirt, that will cost you another $25, You can get all the information by visiting the On Set Cinema webpage.
