Rejoice, the end is near! American Horror Story has finally revealed season eight’s official title.
Announced late last night at San Diego Comic Con, the official title and poster art for season eight have fans rejoicing. Last season put audiences smack dab in the middle of our most polarizing election, but Apocalypse will re-direct the action as a blend of the show’s first and third seasons. This new season will bring fan favorites back for more blood, terror and drama.
“It’s a season unlike anything we’ve done because there’s a big hook to it,” Murphy said to Deadline. “There’s a huge thing that happens in Episode 5.”
Murder House (season one) ended with the birth of the Antichrist, Michael Langdon. The blood red poster design, with the all black hand, is very reminiscent of the posters used in season one. Is the baby supposed to be the young child we met at the end of Murder House? The young boy would be around seven or eight if the timeline of the show is consistent.
“It’s a character from season one that will be thrust into the world that you are left with at the end of Coven, which is sort of like the male/female/witch academy,” Murphy shared with Entertainment Weekly. “And then all of those characters will intertwine, which is confusing because some of them are from seasons 1 and 3. Like, Sarah Paulson will probably be playing 18 characters.”
PopBuzz believes that the past speculation of AHS: Radioactive is still somewhat correct. Remember, AHS supposedly copyrighted the title Radioactive and fan sites reportedly leaked images of the nuclear logo.
Murphy also had revealed the time period for the new season when he urged members of the audience to search up what event will taking place in October 2019.
The theory, that October 6th would be the 58th anniversary of President Kennedy urging Americans to build nuclear bomb bunkers for safety, was proved factual. If this is to be true, then will season eight be some type of nuclear fallout/end of the world situation, with the antichrist leading the pack?
As a fan of season one and three, I am excited to see them bring up some of the most iconic moments from the show. Can’t wait to see Emma Roberts reprise her role as Madison. Let the flames begin!
The season will premiere on September 12 on FX.
