We don’t know about you, but we’ve been on pins and needles waiting for the new season of American Horror Story ever since the announcement that this would be the first crossover season. Set to debut next month, American Horror Story: Apocalypse, will bring together fan favorites “Murder House” (Season 1) and “Coven” (Season 3) in what will surely be the topic of conversation at everyone’s office water cooler this Fall.

Series creator, Ryan Murphy has proven time again that he knows just how to whet fan appetites for each season and he proved it again a couple of days ago when he posted images to Instagram featuring series regulars Lily Rabe and Sarah Paulson alongside season three’s most talked about guest star, Stevie Nicks, according to Entertainment Weekly.

As if that weren’t enough, the showrunner followed it up with pic of the entire returning “Coven” cast again with Nicks in the foreground, this time on Twitter.

Theories have abounded online since the season’s theme announcement alongside announcements of returning cast, including the formidable Jessica Lange, but they’ll no doubt go into hyperdrive with these pictures.

Many will remember that Misty Day (Lily Rabe) had died by the end of “Coven” in her attempt to perform the Seven Wonders to become the next Supreme Witch while Gabourey Sidibe’s character, Queenie, died during her cameo in the infamous “Hotel” season. Either there is a great deal of big magic afoot, or this season will take place at an unknown place in the overall timeline.

With the title “Apocalypse” it’s easy to assume that the story will involve what was thought to be the Anti-Christ, born at the end of the phenomenal first season, but Murphy has always kept us on our toes.

He has stated on more than one occasion that all of the various themes are connected, and it appears it is now time to begin drawing direct lines between them.

One thing is certain: It’s time to mark those calendars for American Horror Story: Apocalypse! The season will premiere on FX on September 12, 2018.
