Things are shaping up with Amazon Studios’ I Know What You Did Last Summer reboot series with a slate of casting news that dropped yesterday afternoon.
Jumanji: The Next Level‘s Madison Iseman will take the lead in the series according to Deadline. The actress is joined by Sebastian Amoruso (Solve), Brianne Tju (Light as a Feather), Ezekiel Goodman (Rat Bastard), Ashley Moore (Pop Star: Never Stop Never Stopping), Cassie Beck (Elementary), Fiona Rene (Stumptown), Bill Heck (Locke & Key), and Brooke Bloom (Homecoming).
I Know What You Did Last Summer is based on the 1973 novel by Lois Duncan about four teenagers who, after a party, are involved in a hit-and-run accident that results in the death of a young man. They leave his body on the side of the road and make an anonymous call to police reporting it while vowing to never admit they were involved. A year later, the knowledge of what they’ve done eats away at them, and they soon realize they’re being hunted when one of the girls receives a note that reads “I know what you did last summer…”
The novel was previously adapted into a 1997 film starring Jennifer Love-Hewitt that spawned two sequels.
Preacher and Gossip Girl scribe, Sara Goodman is set to write the series. There is no firm release date, at this time.
