Allison Williams (Get Out) is moving back into Blumhouse to star and produce the tech horror film M3GAN.
According to the press release, in the movie:
Williams plays Gemma, a brilliant roboticist at a toy company. She uses artificial intelligence to develop M3GAN, a life-like doll programmed to be a kid’s greatest companion and a parent’s greatest ally. After unexpectedly gaining custody of her orphaned niece, Gemma enlists the help of the M3GAN prototype – a decision that has unimaginable consequences.
The movie is adapted from a script by Akela Cooper (Malignant, The Nun 2, Luke Cage) which in turn is based on a story by James Wan. Gerard Johnstone (Housebound) will direct the film.
Horror wonder twins Jason Blum and James Wan are combining their producing powers.
Michael Clear, of Wan’s Atomic Monster banner, will executive produce with Judson Scott shepherding for the company. Blumhouse’s Ryan Turek will exec produce. Williams will also serve as an executive producer.
Williams has just completed the thriller Horizon Line in which a couple flying to an island for a wedding must survive after their pilot dies at the helm.
