Get ready for a little evil.
Variety reported earlier this weekend that a new horror-comedy, directed by Eli Craig (writer and director of 2010’s Tucker and Dale vs Evil), will make its way to Netflix sometime in 2017. While these details are a bit vague, there’s still more than enough news on this project to get you excited. The news of Eli Craigs making his directorial return is big news for any horror fan but a funny bone. His first feature-length debut, Tucker and Dale, has been a fan favorite for a while now, thanks in part to the film surfacing on Netflix. So, if you’re not excited for a new movie from him, you’ve obviously never seen his first one.
But the real news on the project is that Adam Scott, who completely stole the show in 2015’s Krampus has been cast in Little Evil in a lead role. Also on the roster is Evangeline Lilly (The Hobbit, Ant-Man). While her previous ventures wouldn’t exactly be considered horror, they are considered to be really good…at least by me.
Eli Craig is writing and directing the film about Gary (Scott) who has just married Samantha (Lilly), the woman of his dreams, only to discover that her six-year-old son (Owen Atlas) may be the Antichrist.
Love me some Antichrist. Maybe it’s Craig’s funny version of The Omen? One can only hope.
The film will start filming in Cleveland, Ohio, next week.
