It’s pretty official now. The world is going to end. The sign of the end times comes at us this time by way of an announcement from Valve Software revealing the title and format of the next Half-Life game.

The game titled Half-Life: Alyx is being described by Valve as ‘a flagship VR game’. The announcement came via Valve’s Twitter Monday afternoon and is the first bit of official Half-Life news we have received in an eternity. Or at least, what feels like an eternity.

The graphic that accompanied the tweet clearly displays the Valve logo, the Steam VR logo and the iconic Half-Life lambata logo.

Luckily, we won’t have to wait long to see more of what we are in store for with this title. The tweet also revealed that Nov. 21, we are going to receive an official unveiling.

VR isn’t necessarily the way that I thought the next Half-Life title would be served up, but to complain about anything at this stage is just proving that you aren’t a Half-Life fan. I don’t own a VR setup but, I would go as far as buying one if it meant playing a new title in this long awaited follow-up.

Would you be willing to get into VR for Half-Life? Are you as excited as we are? Let us know in the comments section.
