A ‘Constantine’ Remake May Be In the Works With J.J. Abrams

by Trey Hilburn III

A Constantine remake may be in the works soon according to a source at The Direct. To add to that already exciting news, we also may receive this particular iteration of DC Comics Master of the Dark Arts from Warner Bros. and Bad Robot.

JJ Abram’s production company, Bad Robot has given us our fair share of awesome content. Most notably, speaking from a horror standpoint, Cloverfield and Overlord.

The last full length live-action Constantine film starred Keanu Reeves back in 2005. It wasn’t a huge box office success, but is a pretty darn good film even with its faults. Since then, we have had a series that ran one season on NBC. It was a faithful adaptation that introduced Matt Ryan into the role of Constantine. He did an amazing job in the part and brought the comics to life.

Since, Ryan has played Constantine in a number of spin offs and animated films, including DC’s Legend’s of Tomorrow.

There are very little details about the rumored project but, with DC taking bigger chances with the Flashpoint story line for the upcoming Flash standalone film, we may very well be seeing our favorite Master of the Dark Arts sooner than later. No word on if Matt Ryan will continue the role of Constantine but we are certainly hoping so.

As soon as we get more details, we will let you guys know.
