With Covid-19 looming and conflicting reports about its severity, almost everyone is a little discouraged and just a little uncertain about going out in public right now. People are being encouraged to stay home, and quite frankly, a lot of us are listening. The list below doesn’t even begin to scratch the surface of what they have to offer, but they’re certainly some of our favorites.
Pick your movies, pop some popcorn, and hey, stay safe out there!
A Quiet Place: John Krasinski, Emily Blunt and their family play The Quiet Game: Survival Edition. This one especially hits home as the sequel has been postponed due to the coronavirus.
Annihilation: Natalie Portman enters a terrifying world in this science fiction horror film from Alex Garland.
Bone Tomahawk: S. Craig Zahler’s brutal horror western with Kurt Russell and Patrick Wilson will challenge you not to look away.
Carrie/The Rage: Carrie 2: Plan a double feature with Stephen King’s classic and the sequel that came over 20 years later that confronts bullying, teenage angst, and two very powerful young women.
Dog Soldiers: Soldiers and werewolves in the Scottish Wilderness. Need we say more?
Ginger Snaps: Emily Perkins and Katharine Isabelle deal with the repercussions of a werewolf encounter.
Grave Encounters 1 & 2: Another double feature with a ton of potential in this found footage duo from the Vicious Brothers about a haunted asylum.
Hell House LLC: Welcome to the Abaddon Hotel where nothing is quite as it seems and no one ever truly escapes.
