In 2003, Rob Zombie made his film directing debut with the kickass House of 1000 Corpses, which introduced horror fans to the infamous Firefly Family of serial killers. Then, 2005 saw Zombie direct The Devil’s Rejects, which turned out even better.

Now, after nearly fifteen years of dormancy, Zombie is preparing to resurrect his iconic characters for another entry in the Firefly saga. Titled 3 From Hell, the sequel came out of nowhere, and completed filming over a year ago. Clearly, they’re not rushing.

Of course, nobody ever expected there to be a Devil’s Rejects sequel, since Otis, Baby, and Captain Spaulding seemingly died at the end in a hail of bullets. Yet, here they are, live and in living color, and ready to do the devil’s work. Check the trailer out below.

As a big fan of the Firefly films, I have one reaction to the above trailer: oh hell yeah! I can’t wait to see the terrible trio back in action, and I know I’m far from the only one. Even if Zombie can’t top Devil’s Rejects, he’ll hopefully manage to at least come close.

Personally, I wish Zombie directed more, as while all his films aren’t home runs, they’re all uniquely and distinctly products of his demented creative vision. Here’s hoping 3 From Hell is only the first of more Zombie horror films to come down the pike soon.
