In 2003, Rob Zombie made his film debut with the crazy as hell, but still quite fun House of 1000 Corpses. In 2005, Otis, Baby, and Captain Spaulding of the Firefly clan returned for more mayhem in arguably Zombie’s best work, The Devil’s Rejects.
Now, in just a few hours, theaters nationwide will screen an unrated cut of Zombie’s latest film, Firefly threequel 3 From Hell. While Sid Haig’s health issues kept him from fully participating, 31’s Richard Brake is on hand to try and fill the murderous void.
That said, not everyone has a participating theater near them, or can make it to a movie on either Monday, Tuesday, or Wednesday night for Fathom’s limited release rollout. Thankfully, they won’t have to wait long, as 3 From Hell will head home soon.
A new Amazon pre-order listing says 3 From Hell hits Blu-Ray, DVD, and 4K on October 15th in the states and 14th in the UK. Extras have yet to be confirmed, although a report from Louder Sound suggests a documentary and commentary will be included.
I’ll be going to see 3 From Hell in its theatrical glory, but for those who can’t, this quick home release is definitely the next best thing. Now we just have to hope the movie is actually good, but Zombie’s track record with the Fireflies suggests it most likely will be.
