21 Savage has just released a gory music video for his new song “Spiral,” made for the upcoming Saw movie Spiral: From the Book of Saw. The rapper, who served as an executive producer on the Spiral soundtrack, raps over a remix of the Saw theme music, “Hello Zepp,” that has appeared in all the previous Saw movies.

The music video features the classic grimy look of the Saw movies, and has 21 Savage strapped upside down in a bathroom very similar to the first film. He also raps through other various Saw-inspired sets, including a slaughterhouse, and features the iconic Billy puppet as well as the new film’s puppet.  The music video also features clips from the new movie, but nothing that seems to reveal the plot beyond what is already known.

Rap is no stranger to the horror genre. 21 Savage is a well-established horror fan and even named his label Slaughter Gang as a nod to the horror genre. While previous Saw movies featured more rock-inspired artists, the decision to have the rapper produce the soundtrack is a modern and unique addition to the franchise, bringing it into the new decade. He has also been featured in the promotional images, shown below.

Spiral: From the Book of Saw comes out in theaters May 14 after being delayed multiple times due to the pandemic in the last year. Advanced ticket sales opened just yesterday via Fandango, so check out this article to get on that.

It stars Chris Rock and Samuel L. Jackson as cops hunting down a potential copycat killer to Tobin Bell’s Jigsaw in the older films. It will be the ninth film since the franchise started in 2004 with Saw created by James Wan (The Conjuring) and Leigh Whannell (The Invisible Man) and following the last sequel, Jigsaw, which came out in 2017.

Keep an eye out for more songs being dropped from the soundtrack and the film’s premiere soon!
