If 100 horror fans were given the opportunity to head back in time and revisit a decade of their choosing, I’m willing to bet that at least 99 of them would almost immediately choose the 1980s. It was a truly glorious decade for the genre, full of gory slasher flicks that still make us smile to this day.
Though the year is 2015, writer/director Justin M. Seaman is paying no mind to that fact with his debut horror film, instead choosing to pretend we’re still balls deep in the 80s. Set for release sometime this year, The Barn is set on Halloween 1989, and it looks to be a slasher ripped straight out of that time period.
In the retro-style film, best friends Sam and Josh are trying to enjoy what’s left of their final Devil’s Night before graduating high school. But trouble arises when the two pals and a group of friends take a detour on their way to a rock concert, finding an old abandoned barn and awakening the evil inside. Now it’s up to Sam and Josh to find a way to protect their friends and defeat the creatures that lurk within The Barn.
Celebrate Halloween early with the trailer for The Barn, which is guaranteed to warm the cockles of your 80s-loving heart!
