Whether you like the films or not, you simply must respect the Wrong Turn franchise for its longevity. Kicking off in 2003, the series to date includes a total of six installments, with the most recent one going direct-to-video last year. And now, it seems a seventh is on the way.
We tip our hats to Broke Horror Fan for bringing to our attention that a Wrong Turn 7 Facebook page was just recently launched, indicating that the sequel is headed our way in 2017. This is the first we’re hearing of a Wrong Turn 7, so for now it’s hard to tell if the page is even official.
Nevertheless, we can be pretty certain that a Wrong Turn 7 is indeed on the way, as the franchise is showing no signs of slowing down. And I think it’s also safe to say that the seventh film will center on a group of young people who take a wrong turn and find themselves pursued by backwoods mutants.
Wrong Turn 6 became the most controversial installment in the franchise last year, when all copies of the film were pulled from shelves in the wake of a lawsuit. You can read all about that in the iHorror Vault. The film was recently put back on the market, with some slight changes made.
We’ll be sure to keep tabs on Wrong Turn 7 here on iHorror in the coming months, so keep your eyes peeled.
