As we recently learned, a Texas Chain Saw Massacre prequel titled Leatherface is soon headed our way, set to delve into the title character’s teenage years. But if you don’t want to wait to hear that chainsaw rev up once more, then we’ve got a little treat for you today.

Gary J. Tunnicliffe is nothing short of a special effects master, having contributed his non-CG skills to films like Candyman, Wishmaster, Blade, Halloween: Resurrection and 2009’s My Bloody Valentine remake, with that impressive list merely representing the tip of the iceberg when it comes to his career.

A huge fan of the original Texas Chain Saw Massacre, Tunnicliffe recently wrote and directed his own fan film, which he’s calling The Chicken Run. A three-minute homage to the overall atmosphere of the horror classic, the short brings Leatherface back to life, and you better believe he’s got his chainsaw with him.

In the film, a young woman wakes up in a living nightmare, discovering her hands and feet bound, her body drenched in sweat and her brother impaled on a nearby meat hook. It’s not long before a door is pulled open and the sounds of a chainsaw beginning cutting through the humid Texas heat…
