Leaked Photos From Jurassic World 2 Set Show a Massive Animatronic T-Rex

Written by Patti Pauley

As filming for the recently confirmed title for the highly anticipated sequel to Jurrasic World, Jurassic World 2: Fallen Kingdom comes to a near end this week, the anticipation for the fifth film in the action-horror dino series is at an all time for fans as die-hard JP lovers have been watching social media ever so closely for snapshot snippets from the sets in hopes of catching a glimpse of their favorite romp-roaring dinosaur. Yesterday, movie news website MovieWeb first caught and reported on a leaked photo of an all-time fan favorite of the franchise seen on the Fallen Kingdom set and the glorious snapshot from Twitter account NEOGAFOT2 confirms the notion that animatronic dinosaurs are playing a heavy role in the upcoming Jurassic installment.

Behold Rexy in all her brooding glory!

Fans of the original Jurassic Park film may remember Rexy’s temperamental role in the first film, so seeing her return in pure practical effects fashion for Fallen Kingdom is beautiful fan-service in the purest form. The scary as hell Indominous Rex will also be making a return to the sequel despite that Royal Rumble at the end of 2015’s Jurrasic World.

Plot details are still under wraps but we know from prior reports that the subject of animal experimentation and abuse is touched on heavily in the upcoming movie with the government wanting to “weaponize the dinosaurs”. Oh boy…

Directed by J.A. Bayona and executive produced by Steven Spielberg with Jurassic World‘s Colin Trevorrow,  Jurassic World 2 stars Chris Pratt, Bryce Dallas Howard, B.D. Wong, Rafe Spall, Toby Jones, Daniella Pineda, Geraldine Chaplin, James Cromwell, Ted Levine, and Jeff Goldblum with a theatrical release date of June 22, 2018.
