Vincent D’Onofrio and Meatloaf Co-Starring in New ‘Ghost Wars’ Series and That’s a Great Sentence

A new series has been announced by SyFy and it sounds pretty promising. Starring Vincent D’Onofrio (Daredevil, The Cell), Kim Coates (Sons of Anarchy, Officer Downe), Meatloaf (Fight Club, Stage Fright), Kristin Lehman (Motive, The Killing) and Avan Jogia (Tut, Twisted), Ghost Wars will premiere in the US on SyFy and internationally on Netflix.

The 13-episode drama will follow a local outcast (Jogia) with psychic powers who must put aside his personal demons to save a remote Alaskan town that’s being overrun by paranormal forces.

From the Hollywood Reporter;

Ghost Wars is not just a contemporary homage to classic psychological horror, it’s also an opportunity to tell stories about human politics and how we shape our beliefs and lives based on our individual perspectives and biases,” Barry said in a release announcing the news Wednesday. “Science, humanism, religion and the paranormal all get a seat at the table.”

Ghost Wars is created by Simon Barry, expanding his relationship with SyFy following Continuum and Van Helsing. It joins a roster of acquisitions at Syfy (including Van Helsing and Wynonna Earp) as well as originals The Magicians, Dark Matter, Killjoys and Z Nation. Production started in Vancouver on May 1.

So we’ve got Meatloaf, Kim Coates, and Vincent D’Onofrio, squaring off against some paranormal pests. Hopefully there’s lots of overly dramatic dialogue and steady action because, really, it sounds like it’s got the potential to be wildly entertaining.
