Love it or hate it, or fall somewhere in-between, ‘The Mummy’ has a brand new reboot coming out next year. This one stars Tom Cruise, Russell Crowe and has a a lot of dark, cursed gods and monsters stuff going on in the short teaser.

The synopsis goes something like:

Thought safely entombed in a crypt deep beneath the unforgiving desert, an ancient queen whose destiny was unjustly taken from her, is awakened in our current day, bringing with her malevolence grown over millennia and terrors that defy human comprehension.

From the sweeping sands of the Middle East through hidden labyrinths under modern-day London, The Mummy brings a surprising intensity and balance of wonder and thrills in an imaginative new take that ushers in a new world of gods and monsters.

The last time we saw The Mummy plague theater screens was back in 2001 with the Brendan Frasier and Rachael Weisz “Mummy Returns.” The two entries into the Mummy-verse were closer akin to ‘Indiana Jones’ adventures. This being 2017, this take looks darker and grittier.

The thing that caught my eye was how Russell Crowe’s character is none other than Dr. Henry Jekyll! Does that mean we will have a visit from Mr. Hyde? If so, color me intrigued!

The full trailer hits the interwebs on Dec. 4, ahead of its June release date.

What say you fans? Do you think its time time to see The Mummy back on screens or do you think they should just let it rest in a sarcophagus? Let us know in the comments!
