Legally Blind Artist Creates Insanely Creepy GIFs For Upcoming Thriller “Morgan”

Written by Patti Pauley

Creepy GIFs have become a staple among the Interwebs and horror fans can’t seem to get enough of them. They are a fun way to provide a friend with a quick jump scare, and we can even use them as part of our keyboard language on social media to describe how we’re feeling. George Redhawk, a legally blind motion effects artist, translates the way he sees the world into insanely amazing GIFs which he began creating following his vision impairment. Recently, Redhawk used his sixth sense for hypnotizing graphics and created some pretty impressive and downright creepy GIFs for the upcoming tech-thriller Morgan that opens nationwide in theaters on September 2nd.

Seriously, maybe creepy isn’t a strong enough word.

Official Film Synopsis: A corporate troubleshooter (Kate Mara) is sent to a remote, top-secret location, where she is to investigate and evaluate a terrifying accident.  She learns the event was triggered by a seemingly innocent “human,” who presents a mystery of both infinite promise and incalculable danger.

The film centers on the struggle for complete control over Morgan, much like Redhawk who struggles with his art and the absence of vision. However, the artist recently opened up with Graphic Art News about a visual-aid software he had been working on for a few years to allow him to manipulate photos in such a way that both stimulates our senses and, with these photos in particular, open a whole new dimension of visual clarity into the film.

“To create most of my .gifs, I am using a photo morphing software which I have been experimenting with, and perfecting over several years. Morphing software is designed to morph one photo to another photo, but a long time ago, I discovered that if I morph a photo to the exact same photo, I could get some pretty amazing movement out of it.
Following the loss of most of my vision, I began to explore this medium as a means to express the world through my damaged sight. My art is designed with the idea to challenge and in some cases, disturb the visual sense of ‘order’, very much in the same way that my vision has become a constant challenge to me. It is also for this reason I refer to my work as, the world through my eyes.”

These mind-bending photos certainly add to the curiosity that surrounds Morgan. The film which is directed by Luke Scott, and produced by his father Ridley Scott, Michael Schaefer, and Mark Huffam has caught our undivided attention. Just by watching the trailer, seen below, I agree: Don’t let it out!

The Motion Picture Association (MPA) has given this film an “R” rating for its “bloody images,” hinting at the visceral and intense experience awaiting viewers. The film draws inspiration from acclaimed horror benchmarks like “A Quiet Place,” weaving a post-apocalyptic tale of a father and his two sons navigating a desolate world. Following a catastrophic event that depopulates the planet, the family faces the dual challenge of surviving their dystopian environment and eluding mysterious nocturnal creatures.

Joining Nicolas Cage in this harrowing journey are Jaeden Martell, known for his role in “IT” (2017), Maxwell Jenkins from “Lost in Space,” and Sadie Soverall, featured in “Fate: The Winx Saga.” Directed by Ben Brewer (“The Trust”) and penned by Mike Nilon (“Braven”), “Arcadian” promises a unique blend of poignant storytelling and electrifying survival horror.

‘Winnie the Pooh: Blood and Honey 3’ Is a Go with Enhanced Budget and New Characters

Winnie the Pooh 3

Wow, they’re churning things out fast! The upcoming sequel “Winnie the Pooh: Blood and Honey 3” is officially moving forward, promising an expanded narrative with a larger budget and the introduction of beloved characters from A.A. Milne’s original tales. As confirmed by Variety, the third installment in the horror franchise will welcome Rabbit, the heffalumps, and the woozles into its dark and twisted narrative.

This sequel is a part of an ambitious cinematic universe that reimagines children’s stories as horror tales. Alongside “Winnie the Pooh: Blood and Honey” and its first sequel, the universe includes films such as “Peter Pan’s Neverland Nightmare”, “Bambi: The Reckoning,” and “Pinocchio Unstrung”. These movies are set to converge in the crossover event “Poohniverse: Monsters Assemble,” slated for a 2025 release.

The creation of these films was made possible when A.A. Milne’s 1926 children’s book “Winnie-the-Pooh” entered the public domain last year, allowing filmmakers to explore these cherished characters in unprecedented ways. Director Rhys Frake-Waterfield and producer Scott Jeffrey Chambers, of Jagged Edge Productions, have led the charge in this innovative endeavor.

The inclusion of Rabbit, heffalumps, and woozles in the upcoming sequel introduces a new layer to the franchise. In Milne’s original stories, heffalumps are imagined creatures resembling elephants, while woozles are known for their weasel-like characteristics and a penchant for stealing honey. Their roles in the narrative remain to be seen, but their addition promises to enrich the horror universe with deeper connections to the source material.
