Horror fans love to collect memorabilia from their favorite movies.  If you’ve attended a horror convention the dealer rooms are filled with replicas, as well as the occasional original piece used in the movie.  However, how can you actually know they’re real? Without a certificate it can be hard to tell. Well we have some exciting news to announce directly from the source!

Horror fans rejoice!  Kane Hodder of the Friday the 13th fame, announced from Mad Monster in South Carolina he will be auctioning off the whole head make up piece he wore at the convention for photo ops!  It’s a beautiful recreation of the infamous piece worn in 1988’s Friday the 13th Part 7: The New Blood made by the same artist who made the original as well as directed part 7, John Carl Buechler.  This is a one of a kind memorabilia piece that would make any horror fan proud!  To be clear, this is a prosthetic piece, not a mask, so you will not be able to wear it yourself as it was made and applied to fit Hodder’s head.

Buechler is a veteran of the special effects industry, and you have seen his work in many of the movies that have made the genre what it is today, such as A Nightmare on Elm Street 4: The Dream Master and Halloween 4: The Return of Michael Myers.  To add the cherry on top, the piece is signed by both Hodder and Buechler!

Most importantly, the proceeds from the sale will going to the Bothin Burn Center in San Francisco.  This is the hospital where Kane was treated for extensive burns he received as he was starting out as a young stuntman before his hit Hollywood.  If you’ve read Kane’s biography Unmasked: The True Life Story of the World’s Most Prolific Cinematic Killer, this is not the hospital that botched up his original course of treatment.  Bothin Burn Center is the hospital where he finally received the professional treatment his burns required.  So rest assured, your money will be going to a great cause!

Currently the prosthetic has acquired 21 bids on ebay, and is currently going for $1,000.00.  However, you can be sure that number is going to go up!  The bids end on April 14, 2017 at 9:32 p.m. so count your pennies and keep an eye on the ebay page here!
