Happy New Year, horror fans! It’s January 1st and iHorror has exclusive new images from Insidious: The Last Key which hits theaters January 5, 2018!
The images give us a glimpse into the making of the latest entry in the popular franchise including a well-lit look at KeyFace, the demon played by Javier Botet that Elise Rainier will confront as she returns to her family home.
First up, we have Adam Robitel directing Javier Botet. Botet is famous for his portrayal of monsters having previously played the Crooked Man in The Conjuring 2 and the titular overprotective spirit in Mama among a host of others.
The Insidious franchise is famous for its practical effects and monsters, and the attention to detail here is amazing. The 6’7″ actor seems almost skeletal and the scale-like skin and those extended key fingers makes this demon one nasty piece of work.
Next up, we have Lin Shaye as Elise Rainier with that very same demon reaching out to seemingly caress her face.
No one expresses fear quite like Ms. Shaye, and there almost appears to be a childlike innocence in that expression. Perhaps Elise first met this demon in her childhood?
We won’t know for sure until January 5, but we can’t wait to find out!
