The gorgeous image above is the artwork for the upcoming Ginger Snaps Blu-ray/DVD combo pack. The release is due out in July via Scream Factory.

The art was created by the talented Joel Robinson, who previously handled the Vincent Price Collection art. It was adapted from his existing piece of art, which is pictured below. Like most Scream Factoy releases, the cover will be reversible, so if you prefer the original poster art you can always swap it out.

The previous U.S. DVD release of the film was bare bones and, even worse, full screen – so the impending high-definition release is already a hit with fans. A great special edition was released in Canadian, so we’ll have to see how this one compares. Bonus features for Scream Factory’s collector’s edition have just begun production and won’t be revealed until May, but knowing the company, they’ll have a ton of new content. Either way, this marks the film’s Blu-ray debut.

The film will be available for pre-order beginning in April. If you order directly form Scream Factory, you can score a limited edition 18″ x 24″ poster featuring the art. If you don’t want to wait that long, grab a print of Robinson’s original piece from his website, artpusher. I recommend taking a look around the site; his work is really impressive.

Ginger Snaps is a 2000 Canadian film directed by John Fawcett. Emily Perkins and Katharine Isabelle (Freddy vs. Jason) star as sisters who must deal with the consequences when one of them is bitten by a werewolf. It spawned two sequels. (Unfortunately, Scream Factory has stated that they cannot obtain the rights to them.)

This is just one of many exciting titles coming this year from Scream Factory. Their forthcoming release schedule also includes such cult classics as Night of the Demons (February 4), Slumber Party Massacre (March 18), Sleepaway Camp (May 27), Dog Soldiers (June), Lake Placid (mid Summer), Phantom of the Paradise (late Summer), Nightbreed (Fall) and many more!
