After coming almost out of nowhere to become a runaway hit last year, Netflix’s Stranger Things faces high expectations heading into next weekend’s release of season two.
Season two will treat fans to nine new episodes, one more than comprised season one. All the trailers and marketing so far have done nothing but increase the hype for Stranger Things’ return, which is arguably the most anticipated TV event of the year.
To put one last cherry on the season 2 hype sundae, Netflix has released a badass final poster for Stranger Things’ second installment, featuring lots of imagery appropriate for the Halloween season.
Unsurprisingly placed front and center is psychically-endowed young girl Eleven (Millie Bobby Brown), the clear breakout character of season one. Her only real competition in that department was Sheriff Hopper (David Harbour), who shines his flashlight nearby. Bask in the awesomeness of the poster below.
Stranger Things season 2 will serve as a real test for the series going forward. Many shows start strong and then quickly taper off in quality as the seasons go on, and it’s hard to think of a stronger first season in recent memory than what Stranger Things gave fans last year.
Stranger Things season 2 arrives on Netflix on Friday, October 27th. I don’t know about you, but I might try to hold off my binge session until Halloween itself. I’m not much for parties, and it’s hard for me to think of a better way to spend my favorite holiday than by returning to Hawkins, Indiana.
