If you’ve ever felt weird about a giant bunny sneaking around your house, hiding eggs among your belongings, you’re probably not alone there. It’s pretty weird. He may bring free chocolate, but at what cost? Anyway, Holiday horror movies are nothing new, but if you’re in the market for something that’s a little different, check out this trailer for The Beaster Bunny.
Sweet precious little bunnies are usually very low on the list of threatening animals, but then again, they usually aren’t oversized and with a taste for human flesh. (Ok, so, sometimes they may have a taste for human flesh, but I’m pretty confident that’s exclusive to Arthurian England.)
Originally titled Beaster Day: Here Comes Peter Cottonhell, this parody of Here Comes Peter Cottontail was written and directed by the Snygg Brothers. It’s a shame they changed the title, because holy hell that is great.
There are a surprising number of Easter horror B-movies, including Easter Bunny Kill! Kill!, The Night Before Easter, Peter Rottentail, Easter Casket, Kottentail, Easter Sunday, and Easter Bunny Bloodbath, but The Beaster Bunny claims to be “the best Easter horror film ever released”. After seeing a few of the other trailers, I really don’t doubt that claim.
What’s the plot, you may ask?
A giant bloodthirsty Easter bunny starts viciously killing the local townsfolk. When the Mayor refuses to act and the attacks grow more gruesome, the town finds its very survival in the hands of a wannabe actress and a crazy dog-catcher.
I think I know what I’ll be watching this weekend. It’s bound to be totally ridiculous, but it looks like a lot of fun.
