Halloween

One of the most requested home video releases for the past several years has been the complete Halloween collection, a franchise that has to date never been compiled together and released in one set. Both the Friday the 13th and Nightmare on Elm Street franchises have been united as one but Michael Myers has been left out in the cold, with the rights to individual films in the Halloween series being spread out across a few different companies.

Today, Anchor Bay and Scream Factory made the exciting announcement that the wait is finally over, and the impossible has happened. They’ve partnered up to at long last release Halloween: The Complete Collection on Blu-ray, a 10-disc affair that will include not just every film in the original franchise, but also Rob Zombie’s Halloween and Halloween 2.

Set for release on September 23rd, just in time for Halloween, The Complete Collection will initially be available in a Deluxe Edition set, which will include the TV cuts of the original Halloween and Halloween 2, as well as the infamous Producer’s Cut of Halloween 6, which has never before been officially released on home video. Also included are hours of bonus materials and a 40-page collector’s booklet. A regular edition of the set will be released at a later date, which won’t include any of the alternate versions.

A brand new piece of art will adorn the set’s box art, though that image has yet to be revealed. The MSRP for the set is $169.99, and you can expect it to go up for pre-order real soon.

Can I get a hallelujah?!
