Goddammit, I love the horror community and this right here is the perfect example why. An Are You Afraid of the Dark tribute film is coming our way thanks to passionate horror aficionados just like you!
This tribute film dedicated to the kid-friendly horror show on Nickelodeon, is being released by Illusionist Studios/ Dark Hill Films and written/ directed by Nathanial Ingram and Zac Lockard. The crew recently reached out to iHorror about the project and given my obsession with retro horror that gives me all the ghoulish fuzzies, I couldn’t be happier to fictiously place myself in an imaginary campfire scenario here, just to tell you this:
Submitted for the approval of the Midnight Society, I call this story,
The Tale of the Ghostly Guest
The working title for the Are You Afraid of the Dark tribute film The Tale of the Ghostly Guest is the hard work and dedication from the generation of horror fans who grew up enjoying the ultimate Snick program for horror hungry kiddos. The project of passion is something purely for lovers of this glorious series and have set up an Indigogo campaign in an effort to help disperse funds to the cast and crew who’ve worked to make this film a reality. And just in time for Halloween no less!
The synopsis per the press release:
The Midnight Society gang returns for an all-new tale of terror. Christopher (Catcher Stair) stays a weekend with his Grandpa Jasper (Sidney Flack) only to discover that they are not alone in the house. As secrets emerge, Christopher learns the extra guest has been welcomed to stay.
You can catch this love letter to our favorite 90’s Nick program at a public screening at Guthrie Haunts in Riverside, Oklahoma on Saturday, October 28th, 2017, with a wide release to the public for free online on October 31, 2017. In the meantime, be on the lookout for the official trailer coming soon right here at iHorror!
