You’re reading an article on iHorror.com, a horror news website. So I will assume you like horror movies. I’m still betting you haven’t seen most of these horror movies I’m about to list. Maybe you haven’t even heard of them. But see for yourself.

Behind the Mask – The Rise of Leslie Vernon (2006)

There’s a new killer in town

Imagine a world where Jason Voorhees, Michael Myers and Freddy Krueger all really exist. That’s the world of Behind the Mask. Queue Leslie Vernon, a slasher villain who is just working on getting started. Following him are a camera crew with the goal to make a documentary about his trade and himself.

It’s not a very scary horror movie for the first hour, but it is full of tongue-in-cheek references to the slasher-genre, not making fun of it but paying homage to it. For comparison, it’s more like Scream, not like Scary Movie. After the first hour it changes it’s pace and all you people craving a real slasher movie get their fill.

If all of that didn’t catch your interest, let me give you some of the cameo appearances in this movie. We get Kane Hodder (Jason Vorhees) as a person who doesn’t want to be interviewed. Zelda Rubenstein (Tangina in Poltergeist) as a friendly librarian. Robert Englund (Freddy Krueger) as the adversary of our anti-hero. Also Scott Wilson (Hershel from the Walking Dead) as a retired Serial Killer.

Zelda Rubenstein’s last feature film appearance.
