As long as he’s been directing films, hard rocker Rob Zombie has been a source of controversy among horror fans. Especially his two Halloween films, which tend to draw fire from franchise purists and praise from fans of Zombie’s signature style.
The film most often cited as Zombie’s best work as a filmmaker is 2005’s harrowing The Devil’s Rejects. A loose sequel to his debut film House of 1000 Corpses, Rejects follows Otis, Baby, and Captain Spaulding through new adventures in mayhem, murder, and mutilation.
The three villainous protagonists don’t make it out of Rejects alive, going out in a hail of bullets to the legendary guitar riff of Lynyrd Skynyrd’s “Free Bird.” It turns out that they’re not truly gone though, as Zombie announced sequel 3 From Hell earlier this year.
Now, despite only going into production last month, star Bill Moseley has confirmed that 3 From Hell has already wrapped filming. The horror icon relayed the news via his official Facebook page earlier this week, referring to the film as Zombie’s “masterpiece.”
The actual plot of 3 From Hell is still presently under wraps, so it still remains to be seen how exactly the titular trio will be resurrected. However it happens though, millions of fans will be very glad to see them raising hell and claiming victims once again.
